The Office of the Vice Provost for Research manages a number of internal funding opportunities on behalf of the University as well as access to external funding opportunities.

Internal Funding

Research Recovery Program: Fall 2020

Four new mechanisms to mitigate unexpected costs, exploit new research opportunities, and support bridge projects. Emphasizing populations disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.

The University Research Foundation (URF)

Due to challenges associated with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fall URF funds will be redirected into the Research Recovery Program (see above).

Grant: Discovering the Future

A grant to transition exciting new ideas to the point at which they can be sustained by other modes of support.

Limited Submission Opportunities:

For certain funding opportunities investigators will find that the University as a whole can only a finite number of applications. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) coordinates the selection process for grant competitions in instances where a limited number of applications are accepted.

Grant: Accelerating from Lab to Market

A pre-seed grant to transition exciting new ideas to the point at which they can be commercialized and brought to market.
