PennKey Accessible Funding Databases

For Penn constituents interested in new sponsorship opportunities, Penn offers access to the following funding databases accessible with your PennKey.

SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network)


The SPIN database provides info from private and government sources. Access SPIN by logging into PennERA and selecting “Find Funding” on the top right.

Foundation Directory Online


Foundation Directory Online (FDO) is a database of over 100,000 public and private foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities in the U.S. It provides comprehensive information on grant-makers and their grants. Access the Foundation Directory Online by logging in with your PennKey.

Grants to Individuals Online


Grants to Individuals Online (GTI), is a database of 10,000 grantmakers to individuals. GTI offers specialized search filters to make your hunt for scholarships, grants, and funding easier, with search fields for subject area, geographic focus, support strategy, and transaction type. Grants to Individuals features a handy “Current RFPs” service to view active funding calls. GTI’s Current RFPs service can be filtered by subject and results point directly to grantmakers’ web pages.

Grant Advisor Plus


Grant Advisor Plus (GAP), is a database that provides information on grant, research, and fellowship opportunities. The Database Search allows you to enter your own search criteria (such as funding agency, keywords, academic division, and more). Results are displayed in the same table format as the Deadline Memo Hyperlinks. The Article Search allows keyword searching through hundreds of abstracts and Federal Register articles. Click on “Subscriber Pages” to search. NOTE: only available through Penn IP addresses.
