The Office of the Vice Provost for Research offers select funding opportunities related to innovation, scholarship, and the diverse research endeavors of Penn’s faculty.

Centers, institutes, offices, and labs offer funding opportunities open to the Penn research community. Highlighted are a select list of opportunities available to a wide range of researchers and disciplines.
External Funding
Penn researchers may pursue external funding from a variety of sources including state and federal government agencies, non-profit institutions and organizations, and corporations. These include searchable funding databases accessible with a PennKey, limited submission opportunities overseen by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, and communications regarding upcoming or released solicitations of proposals or applications.

Limited Submission Opportunities
For certain funding opportunities investigators will find that the University as a whole can only submit a finite number of applications. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) oversees the selection process for grant competitions in instances where a limited number of applications are accepted.

Penn’s Central Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR)
The Central Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) maintains relationships between Penn and several local, national, and international corporations and foundations. OVPR works closely with CFR to assist faculty with finding and applying for funding opportunities from private foundations.
