Biography

Zoe Qiao, LL.M., is the Director of Penn AI at the University of Pennsylvania, where she leads the University’s strategic initiative to advance research, education, and policy impact in artificial intelligence. In this role, she works in close partnership with leadership across Penn’s 12 schools and centers, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting responsible AI development, and building public-private partnerships to translate cutting-edge research into real-world solutions.

Before joining Penn AI, Zoe held several leadership positions at the Wharton School, where she directed global thought leadership programs, facilitated international research partnerships, and supported entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives. Her work has focused on building bridges between academia, industry, and policy, with a particular emphasis on innovation ecosystems, emerging technologies, and global engagement.

Zoe holds an LL.M. from the NYU School of Law and is a licensed attorney in New York. With a background spanning law, business development, and academic innovation, she brings a strategic and interdisciplinary lens to her work.
