Updates and Guidance on the Government Shutdown for the Penn Research Community
The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) is closely monitoring the ongoing federal government shutdown and its implications for research activities, higher education, and the Penn community. While many federal agencies have suspended or limited operations, policies, and contingency plans are being communicated independently by each agency.
The Office of Research Services (ORS) has created a dedicated page that will be updated regularly with links to agency guidance and instructions for grant submissions, reporting requirements, and sponsored project activities during the shutdown.
For international research scholars and postdoctoral fellows, Penn ISSS has provided guidance on potential impacts on immigration status and federal services. Please visit the ISSS Government Shutdown Update page here.
Researchers, faculty, and postdocs are encouraged to consult the ORS and ISSS webpages frequently for the most current guidance related to the federal government shutdown. OVPR supports the Penn research community and will continue to share key announcements as needed.
