Patrick Egan appointed Associate Vice Provost for Research and Associate Counsel and Director of the Research Integrity Office.

The OVPR is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Egan as the Associate Vice Provost for Research / Associate Counsel and Director of the Research Integrity Office.

In this role Patrick will oversee the Financial Conflicts of Interest (FCOI) Program and the Research Integrity Office. Patrick is responsible for Penn’s research compliance initiatives and policies, including those related to conflict of interest, intellectual property, and research integrity and misconduct. Patrick will serve as a strategic adviser, lead projects related to research compliance, and staff the Conflict of Interest Standing Committee.

Patrick comes to Penn after 13 years at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Compliance Operations and Conflict of Interest. Patrick began his work at CHOP in 2010 as a Senior Compliance Specialist before being promoted to Senior Director of Compliance Operations and Conflicts of Interest in 2016. Patrick managed the operations of CHOP’s Compliance Program and was responsible for the operation of the institution-wide conflicts of interest program. Patrick received his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and his Juris Doctorate from Drexel University College of Law.
