Jessica Yoos Appointed Director of Penn’s Human Research Protections Program

A message from the Vice Provost for Research:

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Jessica Yoos, MA, M.Phil. Ed, CIP has been appointed the Director of University of Pennsylvania’s Human Research Protections Program.  Jessica has been acting in this role since July of 2020 and has been with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) since 2016. She initially served as a Senior Regulatory Analyst and subsequently became the Associate Director.

Jessica brings with her much experience gained from her work in the Perelman School of Medicine’s Office of Clinical Research, as well as the IRBs for both Northwell Health and Jewish Home Lifecare in New York.

Recently, Jessica attained a Master of Philosophy in Education in Quantitative Methods from Penn’s Graduate School of Education. In the Director role, Jessica will be responsible for managing overall IRB Operations and providing guidance to the research community. Her knowledge of Human Research Protections, IRB management, and research compliance will help advance promising and innovative human subject research at Penn.

I look forward to continuing to work with Jessica in her new role as Director.
