Professor Christoph Thaiss Named Finalist in 2024 Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists

The Office of the Vice Provost for Research is pleased to announce that on September 12, 2024 the Blavatnik Family Foundation announced that Christoph Thaiss, Ph.D.,  Assistant Professor of Microbiology in the Perelman School of Medicine, was a Finalist in the 2024 Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists.  In its tenth year, the Blavatnik National Awards received 331 nominations from 172 leading academic and research institutions in the United States. The Foundation honors Laureates and Finalists in three categories: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Chemical Sciences.  Professor Thaiss was recognized for his significant advances in decoding the mechanisms by which the communication between environment, body, and brain mediates the impact of lifestyle factors on common human diseases.  Laureates and Finalists will be honored at an awards ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on October 1st .
