Vinitha Rangarajan

Bio

Vinitha Rangarajan is a Provost Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her PhD in the Cognitive Neuroscience area of the Psychology department at UC Berkeley. Her research combines electrophysiological measurements (EEG & Intracranial Recordings) with causal methodologies (Lesion studies & Intracranial Brain Stimulation) to study the neural basis of visual perception- how we see! Her work at UC Berkeley identified how visual adaptation and multistable perception are represented in the human brain. Before her PhD, she worked at Stanford University in a Neurology lab working with epilepsy patients. Vinitha completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of California, San Diego.

Vinitha is passionate about teaching and mentoring. As a PhD student, she taught and guest lectured several undergraduate courses in Psychology and Neuroscience. Vinitha was actively involved in the Bay Area Scientists in Schools program which helped teach elementary school children about the brain. In her free time, she loves to bake desserts, dance, travel, and read fiction.
