The Penn AI Fellowship Program Welcomes Spring 2026 Cohort

Penn AI is pleased to announce the Spring 2026 cohort of the Penn AI Fellows Program. Thirty outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from across the University of Pennsylvania have been selected through a highly competitive process, representing nine schools and a wide range of disciplines that intersect with the field of Artificial Intelligence.

The Penn AI Fellows Program supports emerging leaders whose research engages with artificial intelligence and its implications for society. By bringing together fellows from diverse academic backgrounds that include engineering, medicine, social sciences, humanities, and business, the program fosters a vibrant interdisciplinary community dedicated to advancing responsible, innovative, and impactful uses of AI.

“When we started the program in SAS, we were proud to have fellows from across the social and natural sciences. With the new cohort, we have reached across nearly all our schools. Penn is meeting the AI moment by building a true, campus-wide community of cross-disciplinary scholars. We look forward to watching new collaborations emerge as their interactions grow,” said Bhuv Jain, Co-chair of the Penn AI Council.

Throughout the semester, fellows will participate in events and collaborative discussions designed to deepen their understanding of AI technologies, explore ethical and societal considerations, and build connections across fields. The program also provides opportunities for fellows to engage with Penn faculty, industry experts, and policymakers, strengthening pathways from research to real-world application.

The Spring 2026 cohort reflects Penn’s commitment to developing the next generation of AI leaders and to ensuring that advances in artificial intelligence are shaped by a broad range of perspectives and expertise.
